For the months of October, November and December 2018, 100, 85 and 141 complaints respectively were received by the Transport Authority. Of the complaints reviewed for October 74 warnings were issued to PSV owners, there was one suspension of a permit for 2 weeks and 2 owners’ permits were revoked.
Additionally, 2 PSV owners were reported to the Royal Barbados Police Force in relation to the sale and purchase of PSV permits. The complaints for November and December 2018 have already been reviewed and 180 warnings will be issued to PSV owners while some 32 hearings will be held beginning January 8, 2019.
Hearings will be convened twice weekly until all cases have been heard.
