The Transport Authority is pleased to announce the commencement of the training programme for drivers and conductors of routed public service vehicles. This training programme is conducted by the Barbados Community College and sessions will be held at the Jean and Norma Holder Hospitality Institute (formerly known as the Hotel Pom Marine) which is located in Balmoral Gap, Hastings, Christ Church.
Each training programme will consist of four sessions held over four days. The first programme commences on Sunday 26th January 2025 and will be held over a period of four Sundays, that is 26th January, 2nd February, 9th February and 16th February. Each day will start at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m., and lunch will be provided each day.
You are reminded that as specified in the Transport Authority Regulations 2024, training is a vital component for maintaining your license to operate in good standing. The training is designed to heighten your awareness of the legislative requirements governing the sector, your responsibilities as a service provider, as well as general customer service training. You are therefore encouraged to sign up with the BCC to participate in one of the training sessions as soon as possible.
Registration forms are available from the offices of the Transport Authority at the Constitution River Terminal, Cheapside and Speightstown. Completed forms should be returned to the Accounts Department of the BCC along with the payment of $200.
Please contact the office of the Transport Authority at the Constitution River Terminal at telephone number 536-0300 if you have any questions.
